Notably VSSC located at Thiruvananthapuram, is the lead centre of ISRO responsible for the design and development of launch vehicle technology. Police teams are looking for more arrests in this case from different parts of Haryana, said officials.
As many as five persons of Jind district had been arrested by the Kerala police in this case. Reportedly, the written test of Technician-B, Draughtsman-B and Radiographer-A against advertisement no. 324 at VSSC held on August 20 at various test centres at Trivandrum had been cancelled after impersonation and cheating cases came into fore.
The accused have been identified as Lakhwinder hailing from Dharaudi village, Rishipal from Fulia village and Deepak, a native of kakraud village. The trio belongs to Haryana’s Jind district.
One more accused identified as Sonu of Kakraud village is still absconding and many others are yet to be identified, said Kerala police officials.
Uchana Kalan police station SHO Ravinder Singh told the TOI that “one of the accused identified as Deepak has a history of such cases and local police is probing the background of the remaining accused. Members of exam solving gangs are active in this area who are being identified by our teams,” he added.
Hari Lal, inspector of Kerala police, told the TOI that these accused were involved in cheating, forgery, impersonating and other illegal activities. A thorough investigation is going on in this matter and the entire matter would be unearthed after completing the remand of these accused, he added.
The trio accused were produced in a local court which sent them in police custody for seven days and thereafter, Kerala police will produce them in local court for further course of action, said Jind police officials.
