Pure Hearts – a children’s initiative, brought together the community to spread the message of oneness along with the students and residents in Gurgaon to express their sentiments and love in the form of their rakhis, blessings and heartfelt messages for the soldiers. Collection boxes were placed across 18 Gurgaon schools and various residential communities and markets, encouraging everyone to share their gratitude.
The schools like The Shri Ram School (Moulsari, Aravali, and Millennium campuses), Kunskapsskolan, DPS International School, Scottish High International School, Heritage Xperiential Learning and International Schools, Lotus Valley International School, Pathways World School, Amity International, Hamara Gurukuls Basti centers by Pure Hearts, Nonprofits – Sanshil Foundation Bagiya, Neev Learning Centre, Lotus Petal Foundation, and resident communities like Park View Spa, DLF Aralias & Magnolias, Ireo Victory Valley, Nirvana Courtyard, Nirvana Country, Mayfield Gardens, and Hibiscus participated wholeheartedly.
Over 10,000 handcrafted rakhis and heartfelt cards poured in, each reflecting compassion and sincere gratitude. One touching message from a young boy Arav Ohri from Kunskapsskolan read, “I’ve always been fond of watching superhero movies, but recently I’ve realized that real superheroes are you guys who serve the nation and protect civilians like us. I wish to grow up to be as brave as you all.”
Dhanwanti Mishra from The Shriram School Moulsaria said, “We all became emotional while jotting the messages. It was heartwarming when many students with defence services backgrounds shared their views and family experiences during rakhi making sessions.”
The same emotions amongst the children of Pure Hearts also went towards honoring the security guard at their resident communities and societies, to whom they tied rakhis and distributed sweets.
Pure Hearts handed over lovingly packed boxes adorned in the Indian Tricolor theme, with over 10,000 cards, letters, and rakhis to Saswati Aich, wife of Deputy Chief Army and Zonal President AWWA and Asha Suchindra, wife of Vice Chief of Army, to be sent to our courageous brothers in Leh Ladakh. Aich expressed her thanks and said, “It’s really emotional moment to receive such love from the society, especially from the future of our nation, our beloved children. This noble gesture shown to the soldiers will give them more strength to fulfil their duties, feels worth of all hardships the soldiers face in difficult locations where even taking breath is a task”.
To celebrate the real spirit of Rakshabandhan, Pure Hearts team and school students tied rakhi to 192 soldiers who fought for the nation and are now fighting cancer in the Oncology Wards at The Army Hospital, New Delhi, with love and abundant blessings for their healthy long life.
Shalu Johar Sahni from Pure Hearts said “We are immensely proud of the compassion displayed by thousands of our young children, students, and community members. Their participation in this benevolent gesture reinforces the values that bind us as one family.”
Rakshabandhan symbolizing a brother’s promise of care and protection for his sister, resonates with our brave soldiers stationed at the borders. Despite the physical distances that separate them from their loved ones, our soldiers uphold the sacred bond of brotherhood towards us. Their sacrifices and unwavering commitment ensure our freedom and celebrations.
