GURGAON: Representatives of several industry associations on Friday met the CAQM chairman to discuss small industries’ inability to convert from diesel generators to PNG in accordance with the the comission’s order that goes into effect starting October 1. In the meeting, Ashok Kohli, president of Chamber of Industries of Udyog Vihar highlighted the difficulties small industries will face due to the curbs.
According to industrialists, they are in no position to either convert from DG sets to PNG or to use dual fuel due to the high costs incurred. They also stressed the need for uninterrupted power supply to industries from discoms.
“The cost of running industry on DG sets is very high. We have to use DG sets because of unreliable power supply. Instead of putting a ban on DG sets, the state should ensure uninterrupted power supply,” Kohli said.
