The victim has been identified as Aamir Khan (30), a resident of Badkhal Enclave in Faridabad. The main accused, Sunny (19), is a resident of Lakhuwas village.
The incident came to light on August 21 after the police received a report about a body discovered in a field in Sohna’s Lakhuwas village. Aas Mohammad, Aamir’s brother-in-law, lodged a complaint at the Sohna police station the same day. On the basis of the complaint, an FIR was filed against the accused under Sections 302 (murder) of the IPC.
According to cops, the accused’s vehicle rammed into the auto near Lakhuwas in the early hours of August 20. This led to an argument, which soon escalated to blows. The duo allegedly brutally thrashed Aamir with a metal pipe, leading to his death. They then dumped his body in a field and fled, cops said. Police recovered the metal pipe from the field, which helped them track the suspects. A team led by sub-inspector Satyaprakash from the crime branch apprehended the duo on Sunday near a petrol pump in Lakhuwas.
“Two persons have been apprehended for the murder. They will be presented in court soon,” a senior police officer said.
